Stephane Wrembel in Rochester

Stephane Wrembel is a French guitarist and composer who plays acoustic jazz rooted in the music of Django Reinhardt. He is known for composing music for Woody Allen’s films Midnight in Paris and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, including the piece “Bistro Fada,” and for his The Django Experiment album series. In 2003, Wrembel founded Django à Gogo, a concert series and festival devoted to Reinhardt’s music and the wider Sinti guitar tradition. The event grew into an annual meeting of guitarists and has presented Wrembel and invited musicians at New York venues including Carnegie Hall and The Town Hall.
