Straight No Chaser is an American a cappella group formed at Indiana University in 1996. A video of the group’s comic arrangement of “The 12 Days of Christmas,” which incorporates Toto’s “Africa,” attracted widespread attention after it appeared on YouTube and led to a contract with Atlantic Records. Their recordings include the holiday album Holiday Spirits, With a Twist and Under the Influence; “The Christmas Can-Can” is another established part of their seasonal repertoire. After Holiday Spirits was released in 2008, Straight No Chaser began touring nationally, and holiday theatre runs became a central part of its live work. The singers perform ensemble arrangements supported by vocal bass and percussion, while comedy and spoken exchanges connect the songs. Nonseasonal material has also anchored tours including The New Old Fashioned Tour and The Open Bar Tour.
