Strand of Oaks in Philadelphia

Strand of Oaks is the American rock project of Indiana-born singer-songwriter Timothy Showalter. Its music has moved between intimate folk songwriting and guitar-heavy indie rock, particularly on the albums HEAL, Hard Love and Eraserland; “Goshen ’97” and “Shut In” are among its best-known songs. In 2014, Strand of Oaks performed songs from HEAL for an NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. The project subsequently opened concerts for My Morning Jacket and headlined club and theatre dates of its own, including Union Transfer in Philadelphia.
