Subcarpaţi in Cluj-Napoca

Subcarpați is a Romanian collective founded in Bucharest in 2010 by rapper and producer Bean. The group pairs hip-hop and electronic production with melodies, voices and samples drawn from traditional folk music. Its catalogue includes the albums Subcarpați and Underground Folclor, as well as songs such as “Codrule, Măria Ta” and “Dă-i foale.” At Electric Castle and Untold, Subcarpați have performed as a large ensemble of MCs, live musicians and traditional vocalists. The group has also used that collective format for its recurring 1 December concerts at Arenele Romane.
