Subhumans in St. Catharines

Subhumans are a British anarcho-punk band formed in Warminster in 1980, fronted by vocalist Dick Lucas. Their fast, politically charged punk incorporates shifts of tempo and touches of ska and reggae. The albums The Day the Country Died and From the Cradle to the Grave, along with songs including “Religious Wars” and “Mickey Mouse Is Dead,” established their catalogue. Reunions in 1991 and 1998 brought Subhumans back to the stage after their original mid-1980s breakup. A 2003 performance at the Showcase Theater in Corona, California, was released in the Live in a Dive series, and the band resumed sustained touring thereafter. In Blackpool, Subhumans have returned to Rebellion Festival, while Las Vegas has hosted them at Punk Rock Bowling.
