Sublime in Tuscaloosa

Sublime is an American band formed in Long Beach, California, in 1988 by vocalist and guitarist Bradley Nowell, bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh. The trio played punk shaped by reggae, ska, dub and hip-hop, releasing 40oz. to Freedom, Robbin’ the Hood and the self-titled Sublime. Their best-known songs include “What I Got,” “Santeria” and “Wrong Way.” The original group ended after Nowell died in 1996. At Coachella in 2024, Wilson and Gaugh performed the band’s songs with Nowell’s son Jakob on vocals and guitar. That appearance presented Sublime as a live trio fronted by Jakob Nowell.
