Suga Free is an American rapper from Pomona, California, known for the elastic delivery and G-funk production of his 1997 debut album, Street Gospel. Produced by DJ Quik, the record includes “Why U Bullshittin’?” and “If U Stay Ready,” two of the songs most closely associated with him. In 2022, Suga Free joined DJ Quik’s Tiny Desk (Home) concert for a live-band performance of “Why U Bullshittin’?”, revisiting the collaboration at the center of Street Gospel with DJ Quik.
