Suzanne Vega is an American singer-songwriter, born in Santa Monica in 1959 and raised in New York City. She writes folk-pop and art-pop songs built around precise storytelling, and is known for “Luka,” “Tom’s Diner” and the albums Suzanne Vega and Solitude Standing. In 1989, she headlined Glastonbury Festival. Her 2004 concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival was later issued as Live at Montreux 2004, while shows recorded at Café Carlyle in 2019 became An Evening of New York Songs and Stories.
