Sweet are a British rock band formed in London in 1968, known for 1970s glam rock and hard rock built around vocal harmonies and heavy guitar riffs. The classic lineup of Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Andy Scott and Mick Tucker recorded hits including “Block Buster!”, “The Ballroom Blitz”, “Fox on the Run” and “Love Is Like Oxygen”, as well as the albums Sweet Fanny Adams and Desolation Boulevard. A 1973 concert at London’s Rainbow Theatre captured the group during its move toward a heavier sound, and recordings from the show later appeared on the live-and-studio album Strung Up. After Brian Connolly left in 1979, Andy Scott led successive Sweet lineups on tours through Britain and continental Europe.
