Sylvie Vartan is a Bulgarian-born French pop and chanson singer who became closely associated with the yé-yé movement of the 1960s. Born in 1944, she moved to France with her family as a child and built a repertoire that includes “La plus belle pour aller danser,” “Comme un garçon,” “Tous mes copains” and “Nicolas.” In 1964, she appeared on a program at the Olympia in Paris that also featured the Beatles and Trini Lopez. Her later productions developed into choreographed revues at the Palais des Congrès and arena concerts at the Palais des Sports.
