About T-SQUARE
T-SQUARE is a Japanese jazz-fusion band formed in 1976 by guitarist Masahiro Andoh, originally under the name The Square. The group adopted its present name in 1988. The album Truth and its title track became closely associated with Fuji Television’s Formula One coverage, while “Takarajima” became a widely performed piece in Japanese wind-band repertoire.
In 2003, T-SQUARE joined Casiopea for the concert documented on Casiopea vs. The Square: The Live!!. Five years later, the 30th-anniversary T-SQUARE Super Band assembled past and present members for performances featuring figures central to the group’s history, including Masahiro Andoh and Takeshi Itoh.
T-SQUARE performs at Blue Note Tokyo and has also returned repeatedly to Seoul for concerts.
