Akira Jimbo Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

Akira Jimbo is a Japanese jazz-fusion drummer and composer, born in Tokyo in 1959 and best known for his work with Casiopea and his solo One-Man Orchestra performances. He joined Casiopea in 1980 and played on releases including Mint Jams, Photographs and Jive Jive.

Casiopea performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1984 with Akira Jimbo behind the kit, during his first period in the group. He later made the One-Man Orchestra format central to his solo concerts, using a hybrid acoustic and electronic setup to trigger arranged bass and melodic parts as he played. He also formed the two-drum unit Synchronized DNA with T-Square drummer Hiroyuki Noritake, and the duo performed in the 2003 Casiopea vs The Square concert.
