Taj Mahal is an American blues singer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, born Henry Saint Clair Fredericks Jr. in New York City in 1942. He is known for bringing Caribbean, African and Hawaiian traditions into country and electric blues, and for recordings including “Statesboro Blues,” “She Caught the Katy” and “Queen Bee.” His early albums include The Natch’l Blues and Giant Step/De Ole Folks at Home. In 1968, he performed in The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus, and in 1976 he joined The Band’s farewell concert The Last Waltz at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. After releasing the collaborative album TajMo in 2017, he and Keb’ Mo’ toured together under the same name.
Keb' Mo' is an American blues singer-songwriter and guitarist, born Kevin Moore in Los Angeles in 1951. He adopted his stage name for the 1994 album Keb' Mo', which includes “Am I Wrong.” His catalog also includes “Perpetual Blues Machine,” “Life Is Beautiful” and the Grammy-winning albums Just Like You, Slow Down and Oklahoma. At the 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas, Keb' Mo' performed as part of the event organized by Eric Clapton. He took part in the White House concert Red, White and Blues in 2012, then toured with Taj Mahal following their 2017 collaborative album TajMo. In 2024, he was inducted as a member of Nashville's Grand Ole Opry.
