About Tav Falco's Panther Burns
Tav Falco's Panther Burns is an American band formed in Memphis in 1979 by singer, guitarist and performance artist Tav Falco. The group plays garage rock, rockabilly and blues, drawing on older American songs as well as original material. Its principal records include the debut album Behind the Magnolia Curtain, Blow Your Top and The World We Knew.
In 1979, the group began playing the Antenna Club and other local rooms, and Alex Chilton participated in its early lineup. After Falco settled in Europe, successive lineups toured there and returned to the United States for club dates. Through those personnel changes, the concerts retained a full electric band led on vocals and guitar by Tav Falco.
