About Taylor Hicks
Taylor Hicks is an American singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama, who performs soul, blues rock and pop and often plays harmonica. Born in 1976, he won the fifth season of American Idol in 2006. His best-known recordings include the winner’s single “Do I Make You Proud,” the album Taylor Hicks and its follow-up, The Distance.
The American Idols LIVE! Tour took him across the United States in 2006 alongside the season’s other finalists. He made his Broadway debut as Teen Angel in Grease at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in 2008, then joined the musical’s national tour. In 2012 he opened a Las Vegas residency at Bally’s, which later moved to Paris Las Vegas.
