Tedeschi Trucks Band in Chicago

Tedeschi Trucks Band is an American blues-rock and soul ensemble formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2010 by singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi and slide guitarist Derek Trucks. The group is known for songs including “Midnight in Harlem” and “Bound for Glory,” the album Revelator and the four-part project I Am the Moon. Beginning in 2011, the band built an annual run of concerts at New York’s Beacon Theatre. It launched the Wheels of Soul Tour in 2015, bringing guests including Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and Doyle Bramhall II on the road, then performed Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs with Trey Anastasio at LOCKN’ in 2019. The concert lineup uses a full ensemble built around Susan Tedeschi’s lead vocals and guitar, Derek Trucks’s slide guitar, keyboards, a horn section and two drummers. Songs are frequently extended through instrumental improvisation, while set lists combine the band’s own material with blues, soul and rock covers. The group has returned to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and has also performed at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival.

Cris Jacobs is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Baltimore who plays Americana and roots rock shaped by blues, country and bluegrass. He first became known as the frontman of The Bridge, then established a solo catalogue that includes Dust to Gold, Color Where You Are and One of These Days. The Bridge spent years playing clubs and festivals across the United States before Jacobs began touring under his own name. His solo live history includes opening concerts for Steve Winwood and Sturgill Simpson, as well as appearances in the bluegrass and jam-band world at DelFest.
