Terrace Martin in Los Angeles

Terrace Martin is an American saxophonist, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles whose music draws on jazz, hip-hop, funk and R&B. He contributed extensively to Kendrick Lamar’s album To Pimp a Butterfly, released the solo album Velvet Portraits, and formed Dinner Party with Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington and 9th Wonder. Terrace Martin toured in Snoop Dogg’s band and worked as his musical director. In 2016, he led a full band through material from Velvet Portraits at a Tiny Desk Concert, playing saxophone and keyboards for NPR Music.
