Artists
The Afghan Whigs are an American alternative-rock band formed in Cincinnati in 1986. Led by singer and guitarist Greg Dulli, they are known for dark guitar music rooted in soul and post-punk, particularly the albums Congregation, Gentlemen, Black Love and 1965, and songs including “Debonair” and “Going to Town.” The band performed on the touring Lollapalooza festival in 1994 during its original run. After separating, The Afghan Whigs reunited in 2012 and played a return show at the Bowery Ballroom before appearing at Primavera Sound. Further tours followed the albums Do to the Beast and In Spades, and they returned to the road in 2022 for the How Do You Burn? Tour.
Night Moves is an American indie-rock band formed in Minneapolis in 2009. Their music draws on psychedelic pop, country rock and synthesizer-led new wave; the band became known through the albums Colored Emotions and Pennied Days, including songs such as “Country Queen” and “Carl Sagan.” Night Moves opened North American dates for Lord Huron and Father John Misty following the release of Colored Emotions. The band also performed at SXSW in Austin and has played hometown concerts at First Avenue.
