The Automatic are a Welsh rock band formed in Cowbridge in 1998. Their indie and alternative rock uses guitars, keyboards and electronic elements; they are best known for “Monster,” alongside singles “Raoul” and “Recover” from the album Not Accepted Anywhere. Later releases include This Is a Fix and Tear the Signs Down. The Automatic played the Reading and Leeds festivals in 2006 as their debut album brought them to larger British stages. In 2007 they performed at Glastonbury and joined the London concert of Live Earth at Wembley Stadium.
