The Avalanches in New York

The Avalanches are an Australian electronic group formed in Melbourne in 1997. They are known for constructing dense, psychedelic music from samples, especially on the album Since I Left You and its tracks “Frontier Psychiatrist” and the title song. Later albums include Wildflower and We Will Always Love You. After touring internationally behind their debut, The Avalanches stepped away from full-band performances for more than a decade. They returned for their first live show in 15 years at Primavera Sound in 2016, then performed at Field Day in London and Splendour in the Grass in Australia.
