About The Comet Is Coming
The Comet Is Coming is a British trio formed in London in 2013. The group plays rhythm-heavy experimental jazz shaped by electronics, psychedelic rock and dance music. Its debut album, Channel the Spirits, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, while Trust in the Lifeforce of the Deep Mystery includes the signature track “Summon the Fire.”
In 2019, the trio performed on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury Festival and recorded an NPR Tiny Desk Concert in Washington, D.C. Both appearances placed long improvisations and forceful ensemble playing at the centre of the set.
The concert lineup features Shabaka Hutchings on saxophone, Danalogue on keyboards and electronics, and Betamax on drums.
