About The Contortionist

The Contortionist is an American progressive metal band formed in Indianapolis in 2007. Its music moved beyond the deathcore foundation of Exoplanet into the atmospheric, rhythmically intricate writing of Language and Clairvoyant; key tracks include “Flourish,” “Language I: Intuition” and “Reimagined.”

In 2022, The Contortionist mounted a North American tour built around two complete-album sets, performing Language and Exoplanet in full each night. Rivers of Nihil opened throughout the tour.
