Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club in London

Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club is a British DJ and club-night project led by Liverpool-born broadcaster, actor and DJ Craig Charles. It grew out of The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, which began on BBC Radio 6 Music in 2002, and is known for sets built around funk, soul, rare groove, Northern soul and disco. Charles has also curated a series of compilations under the Funk & Soul Club name. Craig Charles turned the radio format into a touring club night, taking it to venues and festivals around Britain. Appearances at Glastonbury Festival and Kendal Calling placed the project on major festival programmes while the touring nights kept its roots in dancefloor-focused rooms. The Funk & Soul Club is a DJ set hosted by Charles, whose selections move between established soul records, funk breaks, disco and newer recordings connected to those traditions. The format is centred on the record collection and broadcasting style of Craig Charles.
