The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is an American brass band formed in New Orleans in 1977. Its music expands the city’s brass-band tradition through bebop, funk and soul, heard on recordings including “My Feet Can’t Fail Me Now,” Voodoo and Buck Jump, as well as its reinterpretation of Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On.
Mardi Gras in Montreux documents The Dirty Dozen Brass Band at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Years later, another concert recording, We Got Robbed: Live in New Orleans, preserved the band performing on its home ground.
