About Trombone Shorty
Trombone Shorty is the stage name of American trombonist, trumpeter, singer and bandleader Troy Andrews, who was born in New Orleans in 1986. His brass-led jazz, funk and rock can be heard on albums including Backatown, For True and Parking Lot Symphony, and on tracks such as “Hurricane Season” and “Do to Me.”
At age four, he joined Bo Diddley onstage at Jazz Fest. He later toured in Lenny Kravitz’s horn section, then supported Red Hot Chili Peppers on the I’m with You World Tour before launching the Voodoo Threauxdown touring revue in 2018.
His concerts feature trombone, trumpet and vocals backed by the brass and rhythm sections of Orleans Avenue.
