The Drones are an Australian rock band formed in Perth in 1997 and led by singer and guitarist Gareth Liddiard. Their music draws on garage rock, punk blues and noise rock; key records include Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By, Gala Mill and I See Seaweed, while “Shark Fin Blues” became their signature song. The band’s 2007 concerts at Sydney’s Annandale Hotel were documented on Live at the Annandale Hotel. In 2013, The Drones supported Neil Young and Crazy Horse on their tour of Australia and New Zealand, and their festival appearances included Meredith Music Festival and All Tomorrow’s Parties.
