About The Drums
The Drums are an American indie-pop band formed in Brooklyn in 2008 by childhood friends Jonathan Pierce and Jacob Graham. Their music draws on surf rock, new wave and post-punk, and they are known for songs including “Let’s Go Surfing,” “Best Friend” and “Money,” as well as the albums The Drums and Portamento. After several lineup changes, Jonathan Pierce became the act’s sole official member.
In 2010, The Drums played Coachella and Glastonbury, the same year their self-titled debut appeared. The band followed with club and theatre tours supporting Portamento and Encyclopedia, using changing live lineups led by Jonathan Pierce.
