About Foster The People
Foster The People are an American indie-pop band formed in Los Angeles in 2009 by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Foster. Their debut album, Torches, introduced “Pumped Up Kicks,” “Helena Beat” and “Houdini”; later releases include Supermodel, Sacred Hearts Club and the single “Sit Next to Me.”
On the Torches Tour, Foster The People performed at Coachella in 2012 as the album reached a wide concert audience. The band later mounted the Supermodel Tour and Sacred Hearts Club Tour, then marked the debut album’s tenth anniversary in 2021 by performing it in full across three shows at The Wiltern.
