The Egyptian Lover in Los Angeles

The Egyptian Lover is the stage name of Greg Broussard, an American musician, DJ and producer born in Los Angeles in 1963. After working as a DJ with Uncle Jamm’s Army, he began recording in 1983. He plays electro and hip-hop shaped by the Roland TR-808 drum machine and is best known for the 1984 track “Egypt, Egypt.” His albums include On the Nile, One Track Mind, Back from the Tomb and 1984. The Egyptian Lover performs vocals and uses turntables, vinyl and a Roland TR-808 in his live setup.
