The Fixx & Peter Asher in Grand Rapids

The Fixx are a British new wave and rock band formed in London in 1979. The group became known for the album Reach the Beach and songs including “One Thing Leads to Another,” “Saved by Zero,” “Red Skies” and “Stand or Fall.” In 1983, The Fixx opened selected North American dates on The Police’s Synchronicity Tour, playing arenas after the release of Reach the Beach. In 2022, the band brought its catalogue back to clubs and theatres on the Every Five Seconds Tour.

Peter Asher is a British singer, guitarist and record producer, born in London in 1944. He first became known as one half of the pop duo Peter and Gordon, whose recordings included “A World Without Love” and “Nobody I Know,” both written by Paul McCartney. He later produced records for James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt. Peter and Gordon performed at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium for the 1964 concert film The T.A.M.I. Show, then reunited in 2005 for a benefit at B.B. King Blues Club in New York. Asher subsequently presented A Musical Memoir of the 60s and Beyond, a theatre show built around live songs, guitar, archival images and first-hand stories about Peter and Gordon, the Beatles, James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt.
