The Halo Effect is a Swedish melodic death metal band formed in Gothenburg in 2019 by five musicians who had all played in In Flames: Mikael Stanne, Jesper Strömblad, Niclas Engelin, Peter Iwers and Daniel Svensson. The band introduced its guitar-led Gothenburg sound through “Shadowminds” and the 2022 debut album Days of the Lost, followed by March of the Unheard. The Halo Effect played its first concert at Sweden Rock Festival in 2022. Later that year, the band joined Amon Amarth and Machine Head on the European arena tour Vikings and Lionhearts. Its first European headline run followed in 2023 under the Days of the Lost name, supported by Scar Symmetry and Orbit Culture.
Lacuna Coil are an Italian metal band formed in Milan in 1994. Their gothic and alternative metal is built around the contrasting vocals of Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, and they became known for albums including Comalies and Karmacode, as well as songs such as “Heaven’s a Lie,” “Swamped” and “Our Truth.” The band performed on Ozzfest in 2006, taking its live set to amphitheatres across North America. In 2018, Lacuna Coil marked its twentieth anniversary with The 119 Show at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, a concert later issued as a live release. The band then played Comalies XX in full at a special 2022 concert at Fabrique.
