The Irish Descendants in Halifax

The Irish Descendants are a Canadian folk band formed in St. John’s, Newfoundland, in 1990. They perform Newfoundland and Irish traditional music, including ballads, dance tunes and sea songs, and are known for recordings such as “Rattlin’ Bog” and the albums Gypsies & Lovers and Livin’ on the Edge. The Irish Descendants toured Canada and the United States, presenting this repertoire as a full-band show in theatres, pubs and at Celtic festivals. Their touring also took them overseas for performances in Ireland.
