The Limeliters are an American folk trio formed in 1959 by Lou Gottlieb, Alex Hassilev and Glenn Yarbrough. Close vocal harmonies, acoustic arrangements and songs such as “There’s a Meetin’ Here Tonight” and “A Dollar Down” established their place in the folk revival, while later lineups carried the group’s repertoire forward. The original trio came together at the Limelite club in Aspen and subsequently performed at the hungry i in San Francisco. Their early stage act was preserved on the live album Tonight: In Person, recorded before an audience at the Ash Grove in Los Angeles.
