Lonesome Ace Stringband in Victoria

Lonesome Ace Stringband is a Canadian acoustic trio based in Toronto, playing old-time music and bluegrass. Fiddler John Showman, clawhammer banjo player Chris Coole and upright bassist Max Heineman are known for recordings including Gone for Evermore and Modern Old-Time Sounds for the Bluegrass and Folksong Jamboree. For seven years, the trio performed every Tuesday at Toronto’s Dakota Tavern, developing its repertoire through a long-running residency. The same lineup later toured through Canada, the United States and Europe.
