The Longest Johns in Amsterdam

The Longest Johns are a British folk group formed in Bristol in 2012. They perform traditional sea shanties and maritime songs alongside original material, and are known for their recording of “Wellerman,” the original song “Bones in the Ocean,” and the albums Between Wind and Water and Cures What Ails Ya. The group built its early live following at open-mic nights and folk events around Bristol, then maintained streamed performances while venues were closed during the pandemic. They returned to the road for the Smoke & Oakum tour and later toured behind Voyage, taking their harmony-led full-band show through Britain, mainland Europe and North America. Their festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival.
