The Lords of 52nd Street in Fort Lauderdale

The Lords of 52nd Street is an American rock group formed by drummer Liberty DeVitto, guitarist Russell Javors, and saxophonist and keyboardist Richie Cannata, all members of Billy Joel’s recording and touring band during a key period of his career. Their playing appears on albums including The Stranger, 52nd Street, and Glass Houses, and on songs such as “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant,” “Only the Good Die Young,” and “You May Be Right.” In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the musicians toured in Billy Joel’s band and performed at arenas including Madison Square Garden. They reunited after their 2014 induction into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, then began playing theaters under The Lords of 52nd Street name. These concerts feature a full band performing the repertoire they helped record with Billy Joel.
