The March Violets in London

The March Violets are an English post-punk and gothic rock band formed in Leeds in 1981. The original lineup brought together vocalists Simon Denbigh and Rosie Garland, guitarist Tom Ashton and bassist Laurence Elliot. Their best-known early releases include “Religious as Hell,” “Grooving in Green,” “Snake Dance” and “Walk into the Sun,” many of them collected on Natural History. The band reunited for a one-off concert in 2007, then undertook its first US tour in 2010. Later performances included specialist festival stages at Whitby Goth Weekend and Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.
