The Mark Of Cain in Adelaide

The Mark Of Cain are an Australian rock trio formed in Adelaide in 1984 by brothers John and Kim Scott. Their tightly controlled, rhythm-heavy music draws on post-hardcore, noise rock and alternative metal. The albums Battlesick, Ill at Ease and This Is This, together with the song “The Contender,” are central to their catalogue. The Mark Of Cain toured Australia with Rollins Band in the early 1990s, beginning an association with Henry Rollins that included his production of Ill at Ease. They later toured Australian clubs and theatres behind This Is This and Songs of the Third and Fifth. The live trio is led by John Scott on guitar and vocals and Kim Scott on bass.
