The Marshall Tucker Band is an American Southern rock group formed in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 1972. Its music draws on rock, country, blues and jazz, and the group is known for “Can’t You See,” “Heard It in a Love Song,” “Fire on the Mountain” and the album Carolina Dreams. The Marshall Tucker Band opened shows for the Allman Brothers Band early in its career, then documented its original lineup on the concert portion of 1974’s Where We All Belong, recorded in Milwaukee. Decades of performances at theatres, concert halls and festivals followed, and the group marked its formation milestone with the 50th Anniversary Tour in 2022.
Little River Band is an Australian soft-rock group formed in Melbourne in 1975. Close vocal harmonies and polished guitar arrangements shaped songs including “Reminiscing,” “Lonesome Loser,” “Cool Change,” “Lady” and “Help Is on Its Way.” The 1980 double live album Backstage Pass documented the group’s concert repertoire at the end of the 1970s. In later decades, Little River Band concentrated much of its live work on theatres, performing-arts centres and casino venues in the United States.
