The Monochrome Set in Bristol

The Monochrome Set are a British post-punk band formed in London in 1978. Led by singer and guitarist Bid, they paired angular guitar pop with dry, literate songwriting on records including Strange Boutique, Love Zombies and Eligible Bachelors; key songs include “Eine Symphonie des Grauens” and “The Jet Set Junta.” A reunion concert at Dingwalls in 2008 brought the group back to live performance after a long break. They subsequently resumed club touring in Britain and returned to audiences in Europe, the United States and Japan, performing as a guitar-led band fronted by Bid.
