About The Motels
The Motels are an American new wave and pop-rock band formed in California and led by singer-songwriter Martha Davis. They became closely associated with the late-1970s Los Angeles new wave scene and are best known for “Only the Lonely” and “Suddenly Last Summer,” heard on the albums All Four One and Little Robbers.
The band played the Los Angeles club circuit, including the Whisky a Go Go, before touring behind its Capitol albums during the 1980s. After the group disbanded in 1987, Davis later revived The Motels with new lineups and returned to theatres and amphitheatres, including performances on the recurring Lost 80’s Live tour.
