The Mother Hips are an American rock band formed in Chico, California, in 1991 around songwriters Tim Bluhm and Greg Loiacono. They play guitar-led rock shaped by country, folk and psychedelia, and became known through albums including Back to the Grotto, Part-Timer Goes Full and Shootout. The Mother Hips made long-running holiday concerts at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco a recurring part of their live calendar. They also organized Hipnic, a music gathering held at Fernwood Resort in Big Sur.
