Artists
The New Pornographers are a Canadian indie-rock band formed in Vancouver in 1997 around singer-songwriter Carl Newman. Their power pop is marked by layered vocals, and the lineup has included Neko Case and Dan Bejar. Albums such as Mass Romantic, Electric Version and Twin Cinema produced staples including “Letter from an Occupant,” “The Laws Have Changed” and “The Bleeding Heart Show.” In 2006, they supported Belle and Sebastian on a North American theatre tour while promoting Twin Cinema. The Dodos opened dates on the band’s 2010 run behind Together, which moved through theatres and large clubs. They returned to North America and Europe on the 2014 tour for Brill Bruisers.
The Bug Club are a Welsh indie-rock trio formed in Caldicot in 2016 by guitarist and vocalist Sam Willmett, bassist and vocalist Tilly Harris, and drummer Dan Matthew. Their garage rock and power pop catalogue includes “We Don’t Need Room for Lovin’,” “Quality Pints,” the albums Green Dream in F# and Rare Birds: Hour of Song, and their Sub Pop debut On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System. Tours behind Green Dream in F# took The Bug Club through clubs and independent venues across Britain and into the United States, where they appeared at SXSW in Austin. Their British festival appearances have included Green Man and End of the Road.
