The Notwist in Münster

The Notwist are a German band formed in 1989 in Weilheim in Oberbayern by brothers Markus and Micha Acher. Their early records drew on punk and post-hardcore, while Shrink and Neon Golden placed electronics, restrained vocals and intricate rhythms at the centre of their indie rock. Their best-known songs include “Pilot,” “Pick Up the Phone” and “Consequence,” and later albums include Close to the Glass and Vertigo Days. In 2004, The Notwist performed at Coachella after touring behind Neon Golden. A decade later, the Close to the Glass tour brought the band back to North America for dates including Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. The concert album Superheroes, Ghostvillains + Stuff, released in 2016, documented their full-band performance at UT Connewitz in Leipzig.
