The Oak Ridge Boys in Brenham

The Oak Ridge Boys are an American vocal quartet that moved from Southern gospel into country music in the 1970s. The group’s roots reach back to a gospel act of the 1940s, while the lineup associated with its country success featured Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban. Its best-known recordings include “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue” and “American Made,” as well as the album Fancy Free. The Oak Ridge Boys have performed at the Grand Ole Opry for decades, carrying their four-part harmonies into theatres, fairs and country-music venues across the United States. Annual Christmas tours became another established part of their concert calendar, combining seasonal material with country and gospel songs. In 2023, the quartet launched the American Made: Farewell Tour.
