The Primitives are a British indie-pop band formed in Coventry in 1984. Their best-known recording is the 1988 single “Crash,” included on the debut album Lovely; subsequent albums include Pure and Galore. The Primitives toured through the late 1980s and early 1990s before disbanding in 1992. They re-formed in 2009 and returned to live performance, later appearing at Indietracks in Derbyshire and Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
