About The Queers
The Queers are an American punk band formed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in 1981 and led by singer and guitarist Joe Queer. Their fast, melodic pop-punk draws heavily on the Ramones and 1960s pop; the band is known for Lookout! Records albums such as Love Songs for the Retarded and Don't Back Down, as well as the song “Punk Rock Girls.”
The Queers toured as an opening act for the Ramones during the latter band’s final years and went on to play punk clubs across the United States and Europe. Their festival appearances have included Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas and Rebellion Festival in Blackpool.
