The Rapture are an American dance-punk band formed in San Francisco in 1998 and later based in New York City. Post-punk guitar, disco rhythms and electronic production shaped their best-known recordings, including “House of Jealous Lovers” and the albums Echoes, Pieces of the People We Love and In the Grace of Your Love. The Rapture joined The Cure’s Curiosa touring festival in 2004, playing amphitheatres across North America. After disbanding in 2014, the group returned to the stage in 2019 at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn and followed the reunion with further dates in the United States and Europe. The band has also performed at Coachella in California and Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
