About The Real Group
The Real Group is a Swedish a cappella vocal ensemble formed in 1984 by students at the Royal College of Music. It performs vocal jazz and pop shaped by Scandinavian choral traditions, and is known for original pieces such as “Chili Con Carne” and “Words” and albums including Unreal! and Commonly Unique.
The group performed at the opening ceremony of the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Seoul. Six years later, it hosted the inaugural The Real Group Festival in Stockholm, combining concerts by international vocal ensembles with workshops and educational events.
Its concert format uses five voices for melody, close harmony, bass lines and vocal percussion. The repertoire includes original songs and arrangements by founding member Anders Edenroth.
