The Smashing Pumpkins in Hamilton

The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band formed in Chicago in 1988. Their best-known records include Siamese Dream and the double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, while “1979,” “Tonight, Tonight” and “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” became signature songs. The Infinite Sadness Tour took the band through arenas in 1996 and 1997. After re-forming in 2007, they held concert residencies at The Orange Peel in Asheville and The Fillmore in San Francisco. The 2018 Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour reunited Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin for an arena run. Their festival history includes headlining Lollapalooza in 1994 and Glastonbury Festival in 1997.
